Pursuit of Excellence Award

The Pursuit of Excellence Award is an annual achievement program that is administered by the National Funeral Directors Association.

Since 1996, our funeral home has achieved the Pursuit of Excellence Award every year. In 2021, only 119 firms of over 10,000 member firms received the award, and we are one of two Pennsylvania firms to receive it. And we are the only firm from Allegheny/Westmoreland County to earn it.  To achieve the award, a funeral home must meet quality service criteria in eight categories. The categories include: education, compassionate service, technical skills, community and professional service, library or media resources, professional development, in-house training, and public and community relations.

The Continuing Achievement award is presented to funeral homes that continue to display a level of commitment to their community and profession that year,” said NFDA Chief Executive Officer Christine Reichelt-Pepper.

In 2006, our firm was inducted into the Hall of Excellence. This award recognizes the longevity and consistent display of excellence by Pursuit of Excellence participants. We are one of only 155 firms that have received this honor in the country. To receive induction into the Hall, firms must achieve ten years of Pursuit of Excellence recognition. There are only 7 Pennsylvania firms that have been inducted into the Hall of Excellence.

In 2018, our firm was honored with the Best of the Best Award. This award which recognizes the most novel and innovative programs and services in the profession. We were the only Funeral Home in North America to receive the award in 2018.
