William Peddicord Obituary

Of North Versailles, age 64, passed into the loving arms of his Creator, at home on Friday, November 18, 2022, in the presence and care of his family.

Beloved husband of Valerie (Marchitello) Peddicord for 28 years.

Loving and devoted father of Anthony (Andrea) Peddicord of New Kensington, Jaquelyn (fiancé, Fuad Abdul Kader) Peddicord of North Versailles and Kaitlyn Peddicord of Pittsburgh.

Dear brother of Raymond (late Joann) Peddicord of Greensburg, Robert Peddicord of Hempfield, Richard (Nancy) Peddicord of NC, Mary Ferrell of Monroeville, Charles (Melissa) Peddicord of Hempfield, and the late Daniel (surviving spouse, Becky) Peddicord.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Hildegard (Dressel) Peddicord.

Bill is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In 1998, at the age of 40, Bill began his apprenticeship with IBEW, Local 5. He completed his apprenticeship in 2003 and did union electrical work until 2015. He then accepted a position with Allegheny County from where he recently retired. He would often use his electrician skills for people in need. Bill was always ready to lend a helping hand (along with a dad joke) to anyone who needed it, and his laughs could be heard from miles away.

Bill enjoyed singing and was a member of the Norwin Alliance Church choir and also performed solo arrangements at Bryn Mawr Church in McKeesport. When not singing at church he sang at home and in the car, praising the Lord. He also sat at the breakfast table, reading his Bible and praying for his family and friends every morning.

Being involved in the Church led Bill to his second set of parents Joe and Arlene Blamick.

Valerie's brothers, sisters and their children were an important part of his life and he helped, loved, and cared for Val’s parents for many years.

A special place in his heart was filled by Jason and Sarah Wilson, and their children Jack, Sadie, Elsie and Piper who were like grandchildren to “Big Bill”

Christmas was his favorite time of year. He enjoyed baking cookies with Jackie and Anthony, singing Christmas carols, and having as much family and friends in the house that he could possibly fit.

Bill loved being a Marching Band Parent to Katie. Listening to her drum was one of his favorite things. He didn't care how many band props he had to drag across the field just so he could listen to her play.

Hosting summer barbecues and grilling were some of his favorite pastimes. He loved being surrounded by his friends and family.

On his last day here with his family, Valerie asked him, “Are you leaving me today?” He said, “Yes”. She asked, “Do you see Jesus?”. He said, “Yes. Don't cry.”

Friends are welcome on Tuesday from 2-7pm at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Turtle Creek / Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, 412-823-9350 where a Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 7p.m.

Bill will be laid to rest privately on Wednesday in St. Joseph Cemetery in North Versailles.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
