William Novotney, Jr. Obituary

WILLIAM J. NOVOTNEY, JR. of North Braddock, age 66, on Thursday April 15, 2010, after a months-long battle with lung cancer. Bill was a Viet Nam War Army veteran and a former steel worker at US Steel, Homestead Works. Beloved husband of Geraldine "Gerry" (Knapton) Novotney for 28 years; loving father of Linda Hernandez of East Pittsburgh and Diana Novotney of Glassport; grandfather of Brittany, Brandon and Ashley; brother of Joan Zelahy and Robert Novotney, both of Pittsburgh; also survived by nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Woody. Friends welcome Saturday 2-8pm at PATRICK T. LANIGAN FUNERAL HOME 700 Linden Ave. East Pittsburgh. 412-824-8800. Where a Blessing Service will be held on Saturday at 8pm with Fr. Thomas Burke presiding. A private interment with Military Honors will take place in the National Cemetery of The Alleghenies at later date.
