Obituary of Virginia L. “Ginger” (Trinchero) Conahan
Of Plum, formerly of Turtle Creek, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
Ginger was the beloved wife of the late Philip Conahan for 31 years.
She was the loving mother of Enis (the late Rich) Borowicz of New Wilmington, Colleen (Melvin Berer) Conahan of Plum with whom Ginger resided, and the late Philip J. Conahan Jr.
Ginger was the last survivor of 7 siblings who preceded her in death: Louis Trinchero, George Trinchero, John Trinchero, Jack Trinchero, infant Carly Trinchero and Irma Obarto.
She is survived by her ‘bonus daughter’, Lauren Myers, and her dear friend, Bonnie Myler, who frequently drove Ginger to the Plum Community Center.
Ginger is also survived by her many nieces and nephews, her many cherished friends, and her treasured furry grand doggies: Baloo, Geno, Koda and Daisy.
Ginger was a retired teacher who taught Kindergarten and Religion courses at both the St. Colman Catholic Grade School in Turtle Creek and also at Good Shepherd Catholic Grade School in Braddock. She volunteered as C.C.D. teacher and supervised the C.C.D. program at St Colman. Ginger was also an Associate Sister of Mercy and, as such, she shared in their mission and spirituality to tend to those who are poor, sick, or uneducated.
In her later years, and after moving in with Colleen, she enjoyed the many visits to the Plum Community Center where she made new friends and enjoyed the programs.
Friends are welcome on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. and Friday 1-8 p.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Turtle Creek / Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, 412-823-9350
