Timothy Dalton, Sr. Obituary

Obituary of Timothy S. Dalton, Sr.

Of Wilkins Twp., age 83, died on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.

Tim was the beloved husband of Patricia (Betz) Dalton for 55 years.

He was the loving father of Timothy S. (Linda) Dalton, Jr. of Murrysville, Christopher (Dolly Genes) Dalton of Trafford, Katie (Jason) Cienik of Verona and the late infant, Thomas Dalton.

Tim was the precious grandfather of Timothy S. Dalton, III, Kasey and Jordyn “J.J.” Cienik.

He was the brother of Patsy (George) Basso of Glenshaw, Anita (Ray) Hawkins of NY, Marian (Mike) McMeans of TX, Joan (Jim) Ward of Ambridge and the late Dave (surviving spouse, Eva of CA) Dalton.

He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Alice (Mannion) Dalton.

Tim was a proud 1959 graduate of St. Thomas High School in Braddock. His academic journey continued after his honorable service in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, where he embraced the opportunities afforded by the G.I. Bill and earned his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

Tim's professional life was marked by his understanding of the value of relationships. His career commenced in the real estate sector, where he became a licensed agent with Northwood Realty before moving on to Century 21. His entrepreneurial spirit and passion for helping others led him to become an agent for Allstate Insurance. There, he managed his own office with integrity and a personal touch that won him the trust and friendship of his clients for over 25 years until his retirement in 2011.

An ardent Pittsburgh sports fan, he never missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite teams, especially the Pirates. He also found great joy in playing golf.

Yet, it was the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, that Tim treasured most.

All are welcome on Friday from 2-7pm at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Turtle Creek / Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, 412-823-9350.
Mass of Christian Burial will be in St. Bernadette Church (Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish) in Monroeville on Saturday at 11:30 a.m.

Tim will be laid to rest with Military Honors at Good Shepherd Cemetery.
