Thomas F. Sweeney

A lifelong resident of North Braddock, age 75, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 after a lengthy battle with health issues.

Tom was the beloved husband of Jacqueline “Jackie” (Shovel) Sweeney for 33 years.

Father of Tim and Erin.

Precious “Pop” to Mary Jo Fullen of Wilkins Twp.

Treasured longtime friend of Greg “Jiggs” (Sandy) Gigliotti.

Tom was a 1966 graduate of North Braddock Scott High School and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. For 30 years, until his retirement, Tom was a service technician for 3M Company providing service throughout the Tri State area and beyond.

Tom was a collector of model cars and enjoyed playing golf, rooting for the Pittsburgh sports teams and socializing with his cherished friends.

Friends are welcome to a memorial Visitation from 1-3 pm on Saturday, March 25 in Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Linden Avenue at Cable Avenue, East Pittsburgh (412-824-8800) where a Memorial Service will be held at 3 pm, followed by a Presentation of Military Honors.
