Obituary of Thomas P. McMahon, Jr.
A resident of Walden’s View in North Huntingdon, originally from East Pittsburgh, age 77, died peacefully on Monday, June 16, 2025.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas P., Sr. and Jane (McGivern) McMahon.
He was the beloved father of Sean McMahon of Monroeville and Cristin (Joe) Sekely of Monroeville.
Tom was the dear grandfather of Sylas and Falyn Sekely.
He is also survived by his siblings: Mary Ann (George Franchek) McMahon, James (Susie Shields) McMahon, Joseph (Lynn) McMahon, Maggie (Tony) Rizza, and Jane (Bob) Barnum along with many nieces and nephews.
Tom was a 1965 graduate of St. Thomas High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Penn State. Tom served in the Army Reserves and became employed as a case worker for the PA Department of Public Welfare from where he eventually retired. Tom will be remembered for his unique sense of humor, his sharp wit and his ‘one-liners’, as he was always at the ready for a quick comeback remark.
Friends are welcome on Friday, June 20, from 4-7pm at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, PA 15145, (412) 823-9350 where a Blessing Service will be held on Friday at 7pm.
