Theodore C. "Ted" Showers

Of Wilkins Twp., age 84, passed away on Monday May 11, 2026.

Born the son of the late Kenneth S. Showers and the late Elizabeth M. (Haley) Showers.

Beloved husband of Regina “Jean” (McLain) Showers for 58 wonderful years.

Loving father of Ted P. Showers and Ann L. Showers, both of Forest Hills.

Dear brother of John (Joyce) Showers of DuBois, PA.  Preceded in death by his siblings, Barbara Schaffer, Kenneth Showers, and Jean Bailey.

Cherished brother-in-law of Roberta (Quentin) Friel and Rachelle (Bernie) Andreyo.

Also survived by nieces and nephews.

Ted was proud to have been born and raised in DuBois, PA, and was a graduate of DuBois Area High School.  Following graduation, Ted went on to attend Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he received a bachelor’s degree in secondary education.  Ted also earned credits from both Duquesne University and Penn State University.  Ted was employed by the Riverview School District as an educator, most of that time dedicated to teaching classes at the high school.  He retired with over 32 years of dedicated service to the school district, and treasured those years spent educating countless students and forming bonds with his coworkers.  Ted had a passion for both watching and playing baseball.  He was a longtime member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish (formerly St. Maurice).             

One of Ted’s greatest joys was the relaxation of fishing and camping.  For nearly 20 years he and Regina enjoyed spending winters in Tampa area of Florida.  Ted and Jean enjoyed the fond memories of being together on trips to Pymatuning. 

Friends are welcome to a Memorial Visitation on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 700 Linden Ave. at Cable, East Pittsburgh, PA 15112, (412) 824-8800.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 12 noon at St. Joseph the Worker Parish (formerly St. Maurice).  Everyone please meet at church.

Ted will be laid to rest privately in Penn Forest Natural Burial Park.
