Terrence M. Mahoney

Terrence M. Mahoney, 87, of Forest Hills died April 20, 2023. He was born on April 29, 1935 to Dorothy and Clair Mahoney of Pittsburgh. He graduated from Central Catholic High School and Duquesne University with a degree in Journalism. He married Elizabeth Bartosiewicz on July 8, 1961 and they welcomed five children, Melissa (David) Kortyna, Maureen (Chris) Hill, Megan Mahoney (Jim Thompson), Maribeth (John) Misitis, and Terrence "Bud" Mahoney Jr. (Lauren Poetain). He worked as a marketing manager for Rockwell International and later, Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (GATF). Terry had many interests; he enjoyed photography, hiking, tennis, following Pittsburgh sports teams, and spending time with his large extended family. In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by 14 grandchildren and his sisters Barbara (the late Frank) Bozzo and Judy (Bill) Larkin. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Peter (the late Mae, survived by Carol Reimer) Mahoney, sister Claire (the late Tom) Leheny, and granddaughter Emma Jane Kortyna. Visitation will be on Monday, April 24 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at the Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home at 700 Linden Avenue at Cable, East Pittsburgh, PA 15112. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 25 at 10:30 am at St. Maurice Church of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 2001 Ardmore Boulevard, Pittsburgh, PA 15221.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, 1 N. Linden St., Duquesne, PA 15110 -OR- the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, 800 Waterfront Dr. Pittsburgh, PA 15222. The family would like to express their gratitude for the attentive care provided to Terry by the staff at The Willows.
