Steve was proud to have been born and raised in the town of North Braddock, and was a 1966 graduate of North Braddock Scott High School.  He took immense pride in serving his hometown as a life-member volunteer firefighter for the North Braddock Volunteer Fire Department.  Beginning in 1972, Steve assisted with fire and ambulance calls, and also aided in the community efforts, such as volunteering for the annual street fair. In his early years, Steve worked for Wagner Piano Shop where he learned the skills in repair and rebuilding of pianos.  Steve also retired following a lengthy career in the buildings and maintenance department of the Woodland Hills School District.  He held close to his heart the countless friendships he gained through his working life.  Steve enjoyed visiting various local social clubs and restaurants, he was also proud of his Slovak heritage, and enjoyed eating ethnic foods.  Steve was a member of the Sokol Hall #179.  He was an avid football fan, always excited to root for the Steelers, Penn State, Notre Dame, and even Woodland Hills.  Steve was a longtime member of Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Braddock, and felt that his faith was a strong cornerstone of his life.  Most of all, Steve held close to him the role of being a spouse, father, sibling, and friend to all those he loved so dearly, he will be sorely missed.

Visitation will be private to Steve’s family.

All are welcome to a Divine Liturgy on Monday at 10:30 a.m. in Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Braddock.

Steve will be laid to rest in Monongahela Cemetery.
