Sidney L. "Sid" Hardy

Lifelong resident of East Pittsburgh, age 88, passed away in his home on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

Beloved husband of Viola (Lytle) Hardy for 62 wonderful years.

Loving father of Robert (Leann) Kaefer of FL, Kathy (the late Ed) Schweinberg of South Fayette, and James (Stasia) Kaefer of NC.

Cherished grandfather of 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

Dear brother of Grant Howell.

Preceded in death by his mother, G. May (Howell) Hardy; his son, Jeff Hardy; and his brother, Kenneth “Junior” Ashcraft.

Also survived by nieces and nephews.

Sid proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.  He was a longtime employee of Lamar Electric, and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local #5.  Sid enjoyed watching NASCAR on television.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 9 a.m. in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park, followed by a presentation of Military Honors.
