Sherry V. (Windish) Stoner

Formerly of North Braddock and Acme, age 90, died peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2026 at Brookdale Senior Living in Latrobe.

Sherry was a longtime companion of the late Joseph Slick and the loving mother of the late Kerry Stoner.

She also was the sister of the late Elizabeth “Toots” Galbraith and the late Gloria (late Edward) Hornak.

Sherry was the special aunt of Donna Hornak, Roxane “Rocky” (Vincent) Benkovich and the late Jack Galbraith.

Sherry was a 1955 graduate of North Braddock Scott High School and was employed as a secretary at Westinghouse Bettis Labs and later at the Westinghouse Waltz Mills site, from where she retired. Sherry enjoyed travelling and spending time at her former camp in  Leeper or on Joe Slick’s pontoon boat at Brady’s Bend on the Allegheny River.

She was a dog lover and loved to relax by reading or cooking  delicious meals.

Sherry also was a proud member of the Red Hats organization.

Friends are welcome to a Mass of  Christian Burial  in St. Barbara Church, Harrison City, on  Tuesday, June 9 at 11 a.m.

Sherry will be laid to rest in Restland Cemetery.

Sherry’s family extends deep gratitude to the staff of Brookdale Senior Living in Latrobe, and also the staff of  Bridge’s Hospice, for the excellent and devoted care given to Sherry.
