Obituary of Sharon C. (Naples) Orlofske
Of Monroeville, age 77, died tragically on Sunday, April 13, 2025.
Sharon was the beloved mother of Aaron Orlofske of Dormont, Neil (Christine) Orlofske of NJ and Jana Orlofske of Monroeville. She is also survived by her treasured and cherished grandchildren: Haley and Jacob Orlofske and Jazlyn and Kamryn Rozier.
Sharon was born in Wheeling, West Virginia, and was a proud 1965 graduate of Wheeling High School. She went on to earn her certification as a Registered Nurse in Clarksburg, WV, laying the groundwork for what would be a long and impactful career in nursing.
Sharon began her career by giving back to the institution where she was once a student, serving as a nursing vo-tech teacher at Wheeling Park High School. Sharon's journey then led her to Wheeling Hospital, where she worked as a Registered Nurse, providing care and comfort to countless individuals.
In 1985, Sharon made a significant move to Mt. Lebanon, where she joined UPMC and eventually became an integral part of the esteemed Starzl transplant team. Her expertise in transplant nursing was recognized, and she was subsequently hired by Cigna Insurance Co. to serve as a transplant case manager where she served others until age 73.
Sharon found immense joy in attending her children's and grandchildren's various activities, always being their most supportive fan.
In addition to her family, Sharon held a special affinity for the beach. She relished the opportunity to bask in the sun and surf. Beside her family, Sharon loved to care for pets and leaves behind her 2 cats, Coco and Jasper.
Sharon’s legacy is one of compassion, dedication, and genuine love for others. She leaves behind a community that is better for her contributions and a family that will forever cherish her memory.
Friends are welcome on Saturday from 2-6pm at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Turtle Creek / Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, 412-823-9350 where a Blessing Service will be held on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
