Of Turtle Creek, age 88, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024.

Born the daughter of the late William E. Tatters and the late Margaret H. (By-The-Way) Tatters.

Beloved wife of the late Joseph William Small, Sr. and the late Charles Macolly.

Loving mother of Joseph William (the late Judy) Small, Jr., Margaret (Rody Mireles) Small-Mireles, Donald Michael (Tina) Small, and the late Amy Elizabeth (surviving spouse, Joseph) Small-Elliott.

Dear sister of Ida (the late Jack) Marks, Mable (the late Bill) Little, and Edward (Janet) Tatters.  Preceded in death by 4 other siblings.  

Sarah is survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, along with countless nieces and nephews.

Sarah was proud to have been born and raised in the town of Turtle Creek. 

For 35 years, Sarah served as a housekeeper at the same hotel in Monroeville, which began as the Sheraton (most recently owned by DoubleTree). Her commitment to her work was evident in the meticulous care she took in every task she performed. During her tenure, Sarah touched the lives of both guests and colleagues with her genuine kindness.

Sarah's interests were simple yet profound. She found great pleasure in building puzzles, playing bingo, and solving word searches. Her passion for caring for babies and animals reflected the immense love she carried in her heart. Even in her later years, Sarah remained active, which was reflected in her trip first-ever beach vacation which just took place last year.

Above all, Sarah was the greatest mom and grandma. Her family was the centerpiece of her life, and she showered them with unconditional love and support. Her legacy of love will shine eternally in the hearts of those she leaves behind.   

There will be no visitation.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 9, 2024, 11 a.m. at Restland Memorial Park.
