It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing on Saturday, May 3, 2025 of Sandra “Sandy” Metz, beloved mother, sister, and friend.
A native of North Braddock & 1979 Graduate of St. Thomas High School, Sandy was the daughter of the late Charles R. and Mary Lou (Borrelli) Metz. Sandy was a devoted and loving mother who held her daughter Brittany, and Brittany’s fiancé, John Samsa, close to her heart. A large part of Sandy’s heart was also taken by her loyal canine companion, Romeo. Sandy was employed as an administrative assistant for several years with the Sodexo Marriott Services. Known for her infectious smile, Sandy’s joyful spirit touched the lives of many family members, friends, and neighbors.
Sandy is also survived by her brother, Chuck (Amy) Metz, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives.
Sandy spent many years as a proud Studio G dance mom & fan, finding immense joy in watching & cheering the Studio on. The Studio became a second family, where lifelong friendships were formed and countless memories were made. Alongside the joy she found in being a mother, Sandy was lucky to have two incredible friends who she most enjoyed spending her free time with: Mary Jo Napolitano and Sandy Bonacci. They remained true constants over the years with an everlasting bond. They both are the true living definition of selflessness.
Private arrangements are through the Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home. Memorial donations can be made to Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh, 6926 Hamilton Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15208 or at https://humaneanimalrescue.org/
