Of Wilmerding, formerly of Swissvale, age 68, passed away surrounded by family on Monday, April 7, 2025, following a courageous long fight with COPD.
Born the daughter of the late William T. Bell and the late Lorraine M. (Rys) Urlakis. Step daughter of the late Donald Urlakis.
Beloved wife of Thomas Crocker.
Loving mother of Joseph (Nicole) Spanbauer of Ingram, Michael (Jennifer) Spanbauer of Murrysville, and Timothy Spanbauer of Wilmerding, who was also Sandy’s closest friend.
Adored grandmother of Dante Barnhart, Zoey and Cameron Spanbauer; Madison (Marcus Marshall) Spanbauer, Michael Spanbauer, Jr., and Morgan Spanbauer; Timothy and Savannah Monroe, and Travis Spanbauer.
Cherished great grandmother of Kalani Marshall.
Dear sister of Bonnie (Gary) Willochell and Donna (Roger Staton) Wood.
Preceded in death by her siblings, Timothy Bell, Donald Urlakis, and William Bell, Jr., who was Sandy’s twin brother.
Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and her fur-babies.
Sandy was raised in the town of Swissvale. She proudly served her country as a member of the U.S. Army, and went on to work for several years as a secretary for the Army. Sandy lived life to the fullest and extended her love to anyone around her. She found immense joy in raising her three sons and was rewarded later in life with the gift of all her wonderful grandchildren.
Friends are welcome on Friday from 3-8 at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, PA 15145, (412) 823-9350, where a Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
Sandy will be laid to rest with Military Honors in Restland Memorial Cemetery.
