Ronald S. Zawodni

Ronald S. Zawodni, lifelong resident of North Braddock, age 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 31, 2023. Born on February 20, 1936, in Braddock, he was the son of the late Jacob and Frances (Gostowski) Zawodni. Ron was a loving, kind, and friendly man who touched the lives of many with his generosity and warm spirit.

Ron was predeceased by his wife, Dolores (Kamenic) Zawodni, his sons, Paul and Ronald Zawodni, his sisters, Eleanor (late Joseph) Horvath and Victoria (late Joseph) Cinciripini.

He is survived by his grandsons, Michael (Tara) Zawodni and Raymond (Natalie Martzial) Zawodni, his great-grandchildren, Callie and Michael Zawodni, and several nieces and nephews.

Ron was a proud veteran, having served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War. After his service, he found his calling as a talented carpenter. He was self-employed and also worked with a building and remodeling company, where his craftsmanship and attention to detail were highly valued.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Ron was a man of many interests. He enjoyed daily 5-mile walks with his late wife, Dolores, a tradition that kept them both active and connected. Ron also had a green thumb, spending countless hours in his garden and landscaping his property.

One of Ron's most well-known attractions in North Braddock was his swimming pool. It was a place of joy and relaxation, not only for him but also for his family and friends.
 

Friends are welcome Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory; 700 Linden Ave. at Cable; East Pittsburgh, PA 15112; (412) 824-8800, where a Blessing Service will be held Sunday at 5 p.m. followed by a presentation of Military Honors.
