A lifelong resident of Turtle Creek, age 77, died on Friday, April 30, 2021.

While employed with Westinghouse, Bob attended evening classes at the University of Pittsburgh and earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. After the plant shutdown, Bob began a 10-year employment with Industrial Machine in Etna. Then, he and his brother-in-law, Ed Straka, started their own business, Smooth Ride Inc., manufacturing suspension systems for tractor-trailers. Bob retired due to his long-term battle with kidney disease which resulted in 17 ½ years of dialysis and later, 2 kidney transplants, all while he was still working.
Bob loved to fish and boat on the Allegheny River and he enjoyed his visits to The Hut in Turtle Creek.
