Robert F. Kooser, D.D.S.

Of Monroeville, age 77, unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2020, surrounded by his loved ones.

Bob was the beloved husband of both the late Linda (Neuss) Kooser who died in 1992 and since 1997, Dorothy (Kirkpatrick/Weis) Kooser who survives.

Loving father of William (Sue) Kooser of Cranberry, Kelley (Jason) Muir of DE and Julie (Stephen) Polites of Forest Hills.

Stepfather of the late Walter Weis.

Treasured grandfather of Robert and Zachary Kooser; Jacob and Olivia Muir; and Stephen Polites.

Dear brother of Dianne (late Fred) Heidingsfelder and the late Jeffrey Kooser.

Bob was also preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Robert R. and Mildred Kooser.

Bob was a 1964 graduate of St. Vincent College and a 1968 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. He was a Vietnam War Navy veteran, serving as a dentist. He returned home from the Navy and established his dental practice on Brown Avenue in Wilkins Twp., continuing his career there even after transferring ownership to Steel City Dental. Bob was well loved and respected by his patients for all of his 50 years of practice.

In his spare time, Bob loved to play tennis. Since its early days, Bob was a longtime member of the Racquet Club in Monroeville and in recent years played at Murrysville Tennis Club. He also was a staunch Pittsburgh sports fan following the Steelers, Penguins, and University of Pittsburgh teams.

Friends are welcome on Tuesday from 4-7 pm at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Turtle Creek / Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, 412-823-9350. A limit of 25 people visiting at a time will be observed and coordinated by the funeral home personnel.

Bob’s Mass of Christian Burial in St. Bartholomew Church of Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish on Wednesday and will be private to his family, followed by a Presentation of Military Honors.

Bob will be laid to rest in Good Shepherd Cemetery.
