Robert Capalongo Obituary

Of Penn Hills, age 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 20, 2026.

Born the son of the late Dominic Capalongo and the late Catherine (Laffey) Capalongo.

Beloved father of Donna (Dave) Pellegrino of Plum, Debbie (Tom) Caruso of Monroeville, Robert (Patti) Capalongo of Maryland, Anthony (Angela) Capalongo Plum, Dan (Maria) Capalongo of Georgia, and Michael Capalongo of Plum.

Adored grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Dear brother of Judy (the late Robert) Kress, Kathleen Capalongo, and the late Donnie Capalongo.

Also survived by nieces and nephews.

Bob was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps, and his service reflected the strength, discipline, and commitment that remained with him throughout his life. Initially, Bob thought about entering the U.S. Navy, however, following a conversation with his Uncle Ray, he was quickly inspired to join the Corps, and was forever grateful of his decision.  He carried a sense of duty with dignity and honor, and it was a source of deep pride for him.

Many affectionately referred to Bob as “Hearn” or “Uncle B.”  His comedic personality was one of the many gifts he shared with others.  Bob enjoyed playing cards and treasured the countless trips to Las Vegas.  During the holidays, Bob shared another special tradition with his family by teaching them how to make limoncello.  Through this simple but memorable custom, he passed along more than a recipe, but memories and laughs that will live on eternally.  Above all else, Bob valued the ability to provide for his family.

Friends are welcome to a Memorial Visitation on Friday, July 3, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Patrick T.
