Robert Adams Obituary

Of East Pittsburgh age 77, passed unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 13, 2021.

Beloved husband of Mercia (Mitchell) Adams for 56 years.

Treasured father of Robert J. Adams of East Pittsburgh, Richard Adams of Monroeville and Christopher J. (Barbara) Adams of Edgewood.

Also survived by 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and his brother, James (Judy) Adams of Ingram.

Bob was preceded in death by his sister Lorraine (late Peter) Mellio.

Bob was a 1961 graduate of Peabody High school where he first met his classmate and future wife, Mercia. Bob had been an Assistant Vice-President with Parkvale Savings and Loan, primarily in the Oakland branch, prior to becoming the Business Manager for St. James Parish in Wilkinsburg until retiring in 2016.

Bob was born to manage, not only in his work career, but at his home with his boys and in tending his flower garden. Bob was known for his front yard sunbathing, sporting stylish hats and smoking good cigars.

Friends are welcome on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home 700 Linden Avenue at Cable, East Pittsburgh, PA 412-824-8800.

Mass of Christian Burial will be in Sacred Heart Church of St. Joseph the Worker Parish on Saturday at 12:30pm.

Bob will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery.
