Obituary of Richard W. “Rich” DeWall

Of East Pittsburgh, age 75, on Saturday, May 31, 2025.

Rich was the beloved husband of Diane (Costello) DeWall for 52 years.

He was the loving father of Michael DeWall, Renee DeWall (Stephen Krise) and the late Richard Jr..

Rich was the cherished grandfather of Michaela, William, Abigail, Meghan, Gage, Ryder and Zane.

He was the dear brother – in – law of Jack Costello.

Also survived by a niece and nephews. 

Rich was a proud veteran and Vietnam War Army veteran, serving 12 months in Vietnam. He was skilled as a career auto body repairman, last working at Sciullo Auto Body in Verona. For relaxation, he became a model train enthusiast and enjoyed tinkering with his train sets. Rich was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates fan who also took pleasure in a good cookout. Without any doubt, spending time with his family was his favorite pastime.

Rich will be interred privately in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
