Of Export, born Robert Ray McWhinney, age 71, died on Saturday, June 12, 2021.
Beloved husband of Johanna (Laird) McWhinney.
Loving father of Matthew L. Csokuly, Melissa M. Csokuly and Lawrence P. Csokuly, all of Export.
Treasured grandfather of Eric C. Moody, Justin P. Csokuly, Presley Demshar and Stevie Rae Medved.
Brother-in-law of Lawrence P. (Nancy Graham) Laird of North Huntingdon.
Ray was raised in Pitcairn and was the youngest of the 6 children of James and Pearl (Rhine) McWhinney.
Ray was a retired employee of Johnny Mock’s Auto Body (now Gerber’s) in Wilkins Twp. and previously served as the grounds superintendent of Church Hill Cemetery. Prior to those positions, Ray worked for Calvary Cemetery and various steel mills in the region. In his younger years, he served his Braddock community as a volunteer firefighter.
Ray looked forward to spending his weekends, and any spare time, camping at Mountain Pines Campground in Champion. He loved to visit other campers and socialize, as well as serve as a volunteer security person for the campground. Ray also appreciated animals, especially his dogs.
