Peter Francis Ford

Of Wilkins Twp., age 65, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025, in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born the son of the late Francis Paul Ford and the late Teresa Ann (Rauso) Ford.

Beloved husband of Margaret "Peggy" (McNulty) Ford for 41 years.

Loving father of Sara (Eric) Ivanco of Plum and Mitchell Ford of Wilkins Twp.

Cherished grandfather "Pap" of Nolan, Everley, Willow, and Vyla Ivanco.

Dear brother of Dr. Julie (Dennis) Ford Yajko, Terry (David) Aiello, Lisa (Bubba) Vasko, Chris (Karen) Ford, and the late Kit Ford.

Adored "Uncle Pete" to numerous nieces and nephews.

Pete was raised in Forest Hills and was a proud graduate of Churchill High School, class of 1978, where he was a member of the football team.  He continued to play football at Glenville State College.  After his college years, Pete began a successful career in general contracting and was a member of the Carpenters Union Local #432, progressing to the role of job superintendent.  He was a true leader; he led with humility, was never afraid to get his hands dirty, and did not quit until the job was done right - or "Much More Gooder" as he would say.  

There was nothing Pete could not fix.  He put his carpentry skills and ingenuity to good use as the neighborhood and family handyman.  He never waited to be asked - he simply saw something that needed fixed and fixed it.  Pete's legacy will live on through the craftsmanship seen in all our homes - if you are reading this, you know.  

Above all, Pete treasured time spent with friends and family, especially his grandchildren.  His distinguished laugh was both infectious and undeniable - often induced by one of his self-told "Dad-jokes".  Pete enjoyed the simple things in life, had a big heart, and was someone everyone (and every dog) enjoyed being with.  

All are welcome to attend a Memorial Visitation on Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek / Monroeville Chapel, Turtle Creek, PA 15145, (412) 823-9350.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Maurice Church of St. Joseph the Worker Parish.  Pete will be laid to rest in Braddock Catholic Cemetery.  Those who will be attending Pete's funeral and are able to join the family afterwards at Asti's Italian Steakhouse at Grand View Golf Course are asked to RSVP to Sara Ivanco at (412) 916-1004.

Pete's family is forever grateful for the exceptional care they were able to provide him throughout his courageous fight with primary progressive aphasia and Alzheimer's, a journey they walked together with unwavering support and devotion.
