Patrick James Boyle

Of Forest Hills, age 61, passed away peacefully following a brief illness on Sunday, September 7, 2025.

Born the son of James Patrick Boyle and Patricia Ann (Byrnes) Boyle.

Beloved life partner of Angela Blotzer of Forest Hills.

Loving father of Caitlin, Alexis, Emily, and Sarah (T’Jhá).

Cherished brother of Stephen (Samantha) Boyle of Plum.

Adored uncle of Anderson and Keely Boyle.

Also survived by countless friends and coworkers.

Pat was raised in Penn Hills and was a 1982 graduate of Penn Hills High School, where he excelled both as a student and as an athlete, having played both basketball and cross-country.  He went on to attend Edinboro University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Economics.  

Born with a natural charisma and a talent for bringing people together, Pat was a social butterfly who thrived on the connections he made. His work as an entrepreneur was not just a career but a canvas on which he painted a life full of friendships and shared successes. He built his business, J.M. Peterson, from the ground up with a combination of hard work and dedication.

Pat also maintained an ever-present sense of humor, often simplifying his lucrative business venture by stating, “I sell pizza boxes!”  People closest to Pat would in-turn joke that he was the “King of Pizza Boxes.” 

Pat was generous, thoughtful, and kind.  He was truly a gentle soul who found joy in the little things in life.  He was deeply interested in studying history and reading.  He was an avid golfer and longtime member of Edgewood Country Club, where he found solace in playing the game and gaining countless friends along the way. 

Pat treasured the countless trips to the beach with Angie and their four girls, along with the international trips to places such as Ireland and Scotland.  His presence was a gift, and his memory will be cherished by the many hearts he touched.  All who knew him will forever remember Pat’s love for his family, friends, and anyone who shared in his presence. 

Friends are welcome on Friday from 11-3p.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 700 Linden Ave. at Cable, East Pittsburgh, PA 15112, (412) 824-8800, where a Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m.
