Patricia Mary (Kotarski) Niber

Of Wilkins Twp., age 83, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025.

Born the daughter of the late Edward A. Kotarski and the late Genevieve (Kaczorowski) Kotarski.

Loving mother of Amy (John) Scifo of Forest Hills, Rob (Susan) Niber of Warrenton, VA, and Michael (Denise) Niber of Brentwood, CA.

Cherished grandmother of Megan (Keith) Mills, Sam (Carly) Scifo, Emily Scifo, Rachel Niber, Maggie Scifo, and Charlie Niber.

Adored great-grandmother of 9 great-grandchildren. 

Dear sister of Daniel (Wendy) Kotarski.

Also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and her fur-baby, Mickey.

Patricia was born and raised on the South Side of Pittsburgh, and was a graduate of St. Adalbert Catholic High School.  She was employed as a secretary for Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business for 18 years before retiring in 2006.  She was a faithful Catholic and attended Mass at several local churches.  Patricia enjoyed gardening and reading.  Her favorite meals were Chinese food, and what was known as a “Pat Breakfast”, which is a cup of coffee and a cookie in the morning.  Patricia had a well-known devotion to caring for her several dogs and 1 cat.  Since the 1970’s, Patricia would often participate in dog showings and sled dog races.  Most of all, Patricia treasured spending time with all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends are welcome on Friday from 2-8 p.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Turtle Creek / Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, 412-823-9350. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Maurice Church of St. Joseph the Worker Parish. 

Patricia will be laid to rest in Good Shepherd Cemetery.
