Of Plum, on September 2, 2023, Nicholas passed away peacefully at the age of 94.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Phyllis, and is survived by his daughter, Nancy Ann and her husband, William Mangieri and his sons, Mark, Bruce and Daniel, his niece, Alicia Fraguada and his nephews, Kirk, Gary and Ryan. His deceased family members include his brothers, Adam and Frank and his sisters-in-law, Shirley Klasnick and Lorraine O’Malley.
Nicholas graduated from Turtle Creek High School in 1947 and, after marrying in 1951, served overseas in the United States Army Signal Corps during the Korean conflict. Beginning his career as a draftsman in the 1950’s, he was employed by the Deming Co. and Lear-Sigler Inc. For several decades afterwards, he was an engineer for Westinghouse Plant Apparatus Division and later Bechtel Corporation in Wilkins Twp, PA. He retired in 1998.
Friends are welcome on Wednesday from 11a.m.-1p.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Linden Avenue at Cable Avenue, East Pittsburgh (412-824-8800) where a Blessing Service will be held on Wednesday at 1p.m.
Nick will be laid to rest with Military Honors at Braddock Catholic Cemetery.
