Of North Huntingdon, age 95, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 12, 2024.
He was born in Rankin on August 2, 1929, the son of the late Micheal Sich and Annie (Husan) Sich.
Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine (Boytim) Sich; his siblings, Frank, Marion, Betty, Ann, Mary and Helen; and his son, Stephen Sich.
Michael is survived by his son, Gary (Vicki) Sich; his daughter-in-law, Linda Sich; his four grandchildren, Nicole (Andrew) Gilliam and Matthew, Daniel, and Rachel Sich; and his three great-grandchildren, Noah, Alijah, and Amari Gilliam.
Michael was a man of few words but profound actions. He was a proud veteran, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the WWII era. He dedicated his life to his craft as a carpenter, running his own self-employed business for many years. He had a special talent for crafting toys and furniture, which he happily gifted to his family. Michael also worked in the Edgar Thompson Steel Mill in Braddock for many years before retiring.
His serious demeaner was softened by his love for a good scotch, which he enjoyed while listening to polka music. Michael found joy in gardening, spending time with his family, and celebrating holidays. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and craftsmanship.
