Mary Theresa (Kelly) Sarver Obituary

Mary Theresa (Kelly) Sarver

February 27, 1960 – February 4, 2024

In profound sorrow, we announce the peaceful departure of our beloved sister, Mary Theresa, after a courageous 14-year battle with ovarian cancer. She has now found eternal peace in the embrace of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

A devout and unwavering born-again Christian for over 40 years, Theresa's faith was the steadfast anchor that guided her through the challenges of her prolonged illness. Known for her kindness and boundless love, she selflessly gave to those in need, dedicating herself to raising her cherished grandson, Liam Gallagher, who brought immense joy to her life for the past 19 years. Theresa held her beloved daughters, Norma Jean Zischkau and Lori Coleman, close to her heart, always providing unwavering support when they needed her most.

For more than two decades, Theresa dedicated herself to a fulfilling career with Excela Health at Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg. An avid animal lover, she showered affection upon her three adored cats, Gideon, Theodora, and Miles. Theresa found immense joy in spending time with her family and actively participated in her church's Christmas plays over the years, a testament to her enduring faith.

Preceded in death by her parents, Marilyn I. Kelly and James J. Kelly, as well as her grandparents, James ‘Spike’ and Henrietta Kelly, and James and Agnes Chaney, Theresa leaves behind a legacy of love and strength. She is survived by her adoring husband Tim Sarver, devoted siblings Kevin and Linda Kelly, Brian Kelly, Carole and Patrick Kearns, Joan and Willis Tenney, and Jackie Austin and Tommy. Her memory lives on in the hearts of numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cherished friends.

Theresa's indomitable spirit and resilience in the face of adversity made her a true hero and the strongest woman we have ever known. She formed deep bonds with her church congregation, particularly with her spiritual and medical liaison, Dottie McAllise, who provided unwavering support throughout Theresa's medical journey.

In accordance with Theresa's wishes, there will be no viewing. Instead, a Celebration of Life  will be held to celebrate her life at the Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home, 700 Linden Avenue, East Pittsburgh, 15112, on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm., with a Celebration of Life Service at 12:30.
