Mary Jo (Calligaro) Blake

Of Murrysville, formerly of Turtle Creek, age 74, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, June 24, 2021.  When she died, Mary Jo was with Larry, her best friend and husband of 53 years. Mary Jo is also survived by her siblings Jack (Amy) Calligaro, Kathy (late Fred) McAllen, and Betsy (Lou) Gerthoffer; her nieces and nephews, Kelley (Tom) Maringo, Katie Calligaro, Allison (Pete) Eiseman, Jamie (Carly) Calligaro, and DJ (fiancé Jenny) Calligaro.  She was a beloved great-aunt to Tommy, Jake, Lauren, PJ, Walter, Alex, Josie, Charlie, Aaron, Carter, and Dexter.  She is also survived by her dog, Murray, and preceded in death by her treasured pup, Woody Blake.

Mary Jo will forever be remembered as an amazing aunt who loved to spoil her nieces and nephews, as a wonderful home chef, and for her hilariously dry sense of humor which was with her in her final hours.  She loved a family full of golfers but hated golf.  She loved being at home and having a drink by the fire with her husband, Larry.  Mary Jo loved cooking and saying she accidentally made too much, but really, she made extra on purpose so she could share a meal with loved ones.  Mary Jo was generous, funny, loving, lived an incredible life, and will be greatly missed.
