Obituary of Mary Jean (Maria Gemma DeLuca) Sudina
A resident of Point Pleasant in North Versailles, age 93, died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.
Mary Jean was born and raised in Rankin, the daughter of the late Antonio and Evelina (D’Abruzzo) DeLuca.
She was the wife of the late John A. Sudina for 44 years.
Mary Jean was the adored mother of Michael (Norma Jean) Sudina of Level Green, Gerard (Doreen) Sudina of Murrysville, Kathleen (Louis) Sapienza of Harmony, and the late infant, Anthony Sudina.
She was the cherished grandmother of Antonio J. Sudina and Stephanie (Tim Busher) Sudina.
Mary Jean is also survived by her brother, Mario (late Patricia) DeLuca of West Mifflin.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Beatrice (late Gilbert) Carch, Josephine (late Tony) DiTano, Antoinette (late Edward) Janiga and infant, Gaetano DeLuca.
Mary Jean is also survived by nieces and nephews.
She was a 1950 graduate of St. Thomas High School in Braddock and for years was a credit clerk for J.C. Penney in Eastland Mall in North Versailles. She also was a longtime member of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish. Her fondest joy and favorite pastime were loving and caring for her family.
Friends are welcome on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, PA 15145, (412) 823-9350.
Mass of Christian Burial will be in Sacred Heart Church (St. Joseph the Worker Parish) in Braddock Hills, on Saturday at 12 noon.
Mary Jean will be laid to rest in Good Shepherd Cemetery.
