Mary Alice (Curran) Morris, age 83, of North Braddock, PA, entered her eternal rest on Tuesday, December 17th, 2024. In the company of her devoted husband, Martin Morris, she passed away peacefully at home. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, her absence has left aching sadness to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Mary Alice was born in North Braddock on August 15th, 1941. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Barbara (Joyce) Curran. Mary Alice was a graduate of St. Thomas High School in Braddock. After graduation, Mary became an administrative assistant at Westinghouse Electric. Later in her life, she worked at the Braddock General Hospital where she was affectionately known as “the TV Lady”.
Her sarcastic wit that overlaid truly loving words is just one of the many things her family and friends will hold in close remembrance in light of her return to heaven. Those who knew her best have great stories to tell about how she spoke her mind with a passion that always put her family first.
A devout Catholic, Mary had a strong faith. She was a consistent attendee at Mass and other services, She was a large, welcomed presence within the Catholic community, specifically with those who attended Good Shepherd Church in Braddock and Sacred Heart Church in Braddock Hills.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Martin Morris, her two sons, Kevin Morris (Jill) and Brian Morris, and her beloved granddaughter, Keelin Marie Morris.
She will also be remembered and missed by her sister-in-law, Yvonne (Seeman) Curran and her nieces, Pam (Curran) Stone and Marijo (Curran) Freedman (Neil) and her nephews, Larry Lance (Vanessa), Chris Lance (Laura), and Patrick Lance (Angie). In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her siblings, Patrick Curran and Theresa (Curran) Lance.
Mary Alice was proud of her Irish heritage and enjoyed the Irish community dances from the time she was a young girl and all throughout her life. She was a strong, faith-filled person that called things as she saw them. She was fiercely loyal to those she loved and certainly made the most out of her time here on earth. Her devotion did not stop at people. Mary Alice extended her endless care to all of the Siberian Huskies she loved, especially Molly her current dog, who will, too, miss Mary’s loving care. She will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.
All are welcome to attend her Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church of St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Braddock Hills on Monday, December 23rd at 12:00 noon, followed by a committal service at Braddock Catholic Cemetery where Mary Alice will be laid to rest.
