Chookie was born on December 2nd 1940 to John and Agnes Harmon in Braddock, PA. Her compassionate nature developed early, as she became responsible for caring for her younger siblings early in life. After graduating from high school, she met Joseph Giulianelli and they wed June 18, 1960. Together, they had two children, Joseph and Ronald.
Caring for others, giving to family and friends, being social, and enjoying life, dominated Chookie’s nature. She was active in the church, serving as a Eucharistic minister, in the Italian Sons and Daughters of America as treasurer, and coordinated high school class reunions for many years. A major part of her working career was with Westinghouse where she was responsible for Quality Assurance Customer Relations. In that role, she provided support and leadership on a global scale that helped Westinghouse be a dominant leader in automated control processing. Later in her working career, she provided HR support for the Holiday Inn.
Chookie’s passions were many. Family and friends were a central and important focus of her life. She was a strong and caring role model for her sons and grandchildren, helping them to be successful and acting as a source of support through their various life issues. She was also a tireless caregiver for many extended family members and friends, always ensuring that they were not forgotten. Friendship and the role of being a friend helped define who she was. She was an avid reader, loved shopping, cooking and baking in particular for holidays and life’s events. She was also passionate about physical fitness and good nutrition, staying in shape and eating healthy.
She was loved by many and will be missed.
