Mary M. (Zentner) Hummert

Of Level Green, age 71, left this world on Monday, February 15, 2021.  She leaves behind her husband of 51 years, Hank Hummert, the love of her life and soulmate.

She is also survived by her son, Brian (Elise) Hummert, and her most beloved grandchildren, Logan, Leah, and Kylie.

A passionate dog fancier and member of the Irish Setter Club of America, she shared her life with Irish Setters since 1976, and more recently added Hungarian Vizlas to her canine family.  Mary and her dogs traveled across the country competing in Conformation, Obedience, and Agility and AKC Hunt Tests.  She belongs to the Laurel Highlands Kennel Association, Penns Wood Pointing Dog Club, and the Shenango Chapter and National Chapter of the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association.  Mary has had several therapy dogs that visited area nursing homes and hospitals.  She was most proud of raising over $42,000 to benefit Canine Cancer Research in memory of her Irish Setter, Chase, who died of lymphoma in 2011.  Mary leaves behind her sweet companions, Breeze, Stryker, Nolan, and Mako.

The family requests that friends (and their beloved canine companions) come to say goodbye to her at the scatter of her cremated remains in the Penn Forest Natural Burial Park, on date to be determined.
