Marlene N. (Navish) O'Leary Obituary

Marlene N. (Navish) O’Leary, age 64, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2024. Born on March 7, 1960, Marlene was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who brightened the lives of everyone she knew.

Marlene was a proud graduate of Serra Catholic High School and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Duquesne University, an achievement that underscored her lifelong dedication to helping others, especially those with disabilities.

She was the cherished wife of Patrick O’Leary, with whom she shared a beautiful life filled with love and laughter throughout their 42 years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of Katelyn Vogel (Brian) and Molly O’Leary, and the adored grandmother, or “Gigi,” to her grandsons, Oliver and Logan Vogel, who brought her immense joy.

She is survived by her brother, Dennis Navish (Mary Ann), and her loving nieces and nephews: Meghan Safko (Michael), Kristen Navish, Victor Navish, Mia Navish, Lucas O’Leary (Jennelle), Mason O’Leary, and Charlotte O’Leary. Marlene was preceded in death by her sister, Susan Navish; her mother, Dorothy Navish; her father, Charles Navish; her nephew, Eddy Navish; and her beloved grandmother, Dorothy “Lizzie” Limbacher.

Marlene’s “gift of gab” and ability to light up any room will be fondly remembered, as will her compassion and commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.

Beyond her deep love for her family, Marlene had a special fondness for shopping, especially at Kohl’s, and was known to indulge in her love for lobster tail whenever she had the chance. Her presence was a gift, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Friends are welcome on Monday, November 18, from 2-8pm at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Turtle Creek / Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, 412-823-9350.
