Marie J. (Hertzog) McDaniel

Of Apollo, formerly of Penn Hills, age 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 28, 2026.

Marie was the cherished mother of Harold Darwin (Nancy) Chrimes of VA, David Chrimes of Penn Hills, Dwayne (Tracy) Chrimes of Apollo and the late Debra (surviving spouse, Arthur) Prati.

She was the treasured grandmother of Billy, Becky, Amy, Michael (fiancé Marissa Schultz), Nicholas and Jordan, and she is survived by several great-grandchildren.

Marie was the last survivor of 9 brothers and sisters.

She was also blessed to be the friend of Mary and Norm.

Marie was a 1951 graduate of Penn Hills High School. Besides being a homemaker and raising her family, Marie worked as a Nurse’s aide, did home visits and cleaned homes to help provide for her family.  

In her leisure time, she enjoyed crocheting and reading.

Marie will be laid to rest privately in Restland Memorial Park.
