Marian J. (Schum) Qualey

Of Churchill, age 94, died unexpectedly at her home, on Thursday, March 23, 2023.

Marian was the beloved wife of the late Charles E. Qualey for 71 years.

Loving mother of David Qualey of Beaver, Donna (Thomas) Lockner of Churchill and the late Dr. Thomas (late Diane) Qualey.

Marian was the treasured grandmother of Chuck (Anna) Qualey, Douglas (Kim) Qualey, Shannon (George) Balch and Brooke (Scott) Masten.

Proud great-grandmother of Katie and Lauren Qualey and Zachary Doiron; Sydney Qualey and Luke Stalus; Olivia and Tommy Balch; Brendan, Colin, Alec and Cora Masten.

Until recent years, Marian had been an active member and volunteer with St. Maurice Parish (now St. Joseph the Worker Parish), as a Eucharistic Minister, a former member of parish council, a wedding coordinator, member of the Ladies of charity and the parish prayer line. She also was a member of the AARP and enjoyed the various trips and activities. Marian’s other pastimes include listening to books on tape and solving word searches.

Friends are welcome on Thursday, March 30, from 11a.m. to 1p.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Turtle Creek / Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, 412-823-9350 where a Blessing Service will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m.
Marian will be laid to rest in Braddock Catholic Cemetery.
