A long-time resident of Edgewood, age 90, died on Sunday, August 22, 2021 while surrounded by her loving family. Margaret was born on St. Patrick’s Day in 1931, in Connemara, Galway, Ireland, in the little village of Leitir Mo’r na Coille to the late John and Nora Walsh.
Margaret immigrated to America in 1951 and eventually settled in Edgewood with her beloved husband of 32 years, the late John “Jack” Devine.
Loving mother of John R. Devine and his wife, Maryanne, of Stafford, VA and Mary K. Skowronski and her husband, Tom, of North Huntingdon with whom she resided the past few years.
Dear grandmother of Thomas (Katie) Skowronski, Bridget Nora Skowronski, Sarah Colleen Skowronski, John “Jack” Skowronski and Jennifer (Dan) Dillman, along with their children, Brendan, Logan and Riley.
Also, Margaret was the great-grandmother of Franklin Thomas Skowronski as she waited for his birth in June of 2021.
Margaret is preceded in death by her siblings, Delia (late Martin) Walsh, Annie (late Mike) Martyn, Kathleen (late Mike) Ridge, Martin (surviving spouse, Sarah) Walsh, Mary, Dudley and John Walsh, all of whom lived in Ireland, and Nora (late Joe) McDonough who lived in Boston.
Margaret is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mary (late Norm) Devine and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends are welcome on Monday from 6-8pm and Tuesday from 2-8 pm at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Linden Ave. at Cable Ave., East Pittsburgh (412-824-8800).
Mass of Christian Burial in Madonna Del Castello Church of St. Joseph the Worker Parish on Wednesday at 10 a.m.
Margaret will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery.
