Louise Tomosky Obituary

Lifelong resident of Forest Hills, age 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, October 4, 2025.

Born the daughter of the late Frank Haberle and the late Emma (Balaban) Haberle.

Beloved wife of the late Donald R. Tomosky, who died in 2002.

Loving mother of Dana (Dave Elliott) Tomosky of Forest Hills and Diane (Larry Rizzo) Bortoluzzi of North Versailles.

Cherished grandmother of Rico, Myla, and Thea Bortoluzzi.

Preceded in death by her siblings; Emil Haberle, Frank Haberle, Anne Cosgrove, Mae Hudak, Edmund “Dutch” Haberle, Pauline Sima, Joe Haberle, Emma Vuyanich, Chuck Haberle, Dorothy Pendro, and Thomas Haberle.

Also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors of Marwood Ave.

Lou spent 13 years working as a draftsperson supervisor at Bell Telephone Co. in Pittsburgh, where she oversaw numerous projects throughout her tenure, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues. 

Lou's interests were as vibrant as her personality. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as tending to her garden and admiring the beauty of flowers. Her love for gardening was only matched by her love for her family. Lou was a doting grandmother whose eyes would light up with pride at the mention of her grandchildren. She was also well known for opening up her home for various family occasions, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all who entered.  Lou was proud to have been born and raised in Braddock, and loved to reminisce about the good times with her family and friends.

Friends are welcome on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 700 Linden Ave. at Cable, East Pittsburgh, PA 15112, (412) 824-8800.

A Blessing Service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 11:30 a.m.
