Of Harmar Twp., age 95, died on Monday, June 16, 2025, after a lengthy illness.
Lou was the loving husband of Sophia (Daykon) Houck for 40 years.
He was the beloved father of Bruce Houck of New Hampshire, Laurie Houck of San Diego and the late Brian Houck.
Lou is also survived by Sophia’s daughter, April (Michael) Simpson of State College.
In addition, Lou is survived by 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his former wife, Patricia (Stenett) White and Sophia’s son, Franklin (surviving spouse, Tina of Murrysville) Chamberlain.
Lou was a 1947 graduate of Wilkinsburg High School and was an alumnus of the University of Pittsburgh. After graduation from Pitt, Lou joined the Air National Guard and at his discharge in 1957, had attained the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Lou became a financial advisor and was a co-founder of Harvest Financial in Downtown Pittsburgh.
Lou was an avid tennis player until he was 90 and also enjoyed competing in handball.
