Of Irwin, formerly of Penn Township, age 82, passed away on Christmas Eve, Tuesday, December 24, 2024.
Born the son of the late Lloyd Monroe Neal and the late Anna Mae (Reiher) Neal.
Beloved husband of Theresa (Keane) Neal for 53 wonderful years.
Loving brother of the late Dale (surviving spouse, Sharon) Neal.
Dear brother-in-law of Mary (late Valentine) Koval, Jack (Madeline) Keane, the late Nancy (late Dominic) Tarantini, the late Barbara (late Donald) Wolford, and the late Coleman (late Dona) Keane.
Also survived by countless beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Lloyd was a graduate of Peabody High School. He then went on to attend CCAC and Duquesne University, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. Lloyd proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. Lloyd spent many years employed as a dispatcher for the Allegheny County Port Authority, where he formed long lasting friendships with his coworkers.
Lloyd was an avid golfer, a sport in which he found great solace and joy. As a longtime member of the Hannastown Golf Club, Lloyd's presence at the club was as steady as his swing. His love for the game was matched by his commitment to fitness. Lloyd was a talented basketball and softball player, and continued to lift weights and exercise well into his later years.
Friends are welcome on Saturday and Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 700 Linden Ave. at Cable, East Pittsburgh, PA 15112, (412) 824-8800, where a Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 12 noon.
Lloyd will be laid the rest with Military Honors in Braddock Catholic Cemetery.
