Obituary of Lisa ( Hodowanec) Loy

Of Conway, SC, formerly of Pittsburgh, age 70, died on Wednesday, February 10, 2021.

Lisa was the loving wife of Army LTC Robert J. Loy (retired) for 46 years.  She was an Army wife who served on many assignments throughout the world with Bob.

Beside her husband, Lisa is survived by her sister, Olga (James) Kaiser, brothers-in-law, James (Nancy) and Damian Loy, her Aunt Sophie Hodowanec, her cousins, Oleh (Motria) Hodowanec, Yaroslaw Hodowanec, and Irene (John) Borodycia.

Lisa was preceded in death by her parents Mykola and Anna Hodowanec.

She held various jobs such as Accounts Receivable clerk, Bank Teller, Bank Teller Supervisor, Administrative Assistant to a financial planner and finally, as administration support for the religious program at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Chantilly, VA. Lisa loved the fellowship of playing cards with family and friends. She enjoyed attending musicals, trips to Atlantic City, NJ and Cherokee, NC.

Family and friends are welcome on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home and Crematory Inc; 700 Linden Ave. at Cable; East Pittsburgh, 412-824-8800.

A Funeral Liturgy will be prayed in St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 109 7th St., (Southside) Pittsburgh, PA 15203 on Tuesday at 10 a.m.

Lisa will then be laid to rest in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
