Leona F. (Bartkus) Byers

Lifelong resident of Turtle Creek, age 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 3, 2021.

Beloved wife of the late Henry A. Byers.

Loving mother of Sharon Byers of FL, Bonnie (Philip) Easha of Monroeville, Steven (Kelly) Byers of Canonsburg, and Stacy (Richard) Woodward of Saltsburg.

Adored grandmother of Matthew and Nicole Irwin, Amanda (Kevin) Matsey, Amy Easha, Josh Byers, Julia Byers, and Anthony Woodward.

Cherished great-grandmother of Mila Matsey and Ryker Irwin.

Leona worked for years at Westinghouse East Pittsburgh Plant in their cafeteria until its closing.  She later served as a part-time housekeeper for the Monroeville Baptist Church.  Leona was an excellent cook and took pride in being a homemaker.  Most of all, she treasured the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends welcome Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Turtle Creek / Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, 412-823-9350, where a Blessing Service will be held Friday at 10 a.m.

Leona will be laid to rest in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.
