Formerly of Forest Hills, a resident of Seneca Manor, age 90, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 18, 2023.
Beloved husband of Cecilia (Cheskey) Wojtaszek for 66 years.
Treasured father of Tim (Deb) Wojtaszek of Penn Hills and Maria (Terry) Hughes of Penn Hills.
Cherished grandfather of Lindsay (Jordan) Schmitt, Matthew Wojtaszek, Nicole Romanelli and Samantha Romanelli.
Great-grandfather of Kamden Romanelli, Roman Reynolds, Beau DeSalvo, Grayson Fennell, Molly and Elijah Schmitt.
Brother of Leonard (late Patricia) Wojtaszek of Turkeytown, Helen Lunn of Greensburg, late Ted (surviving spouse, Arlene of Wyano) Wojtaszek and late Honora Wojtaszek.
Larry was born and raised in Wyano, Westmoreland County, and graduated from South Huntingdon High School. After proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, Larry became a teller for Mellon Bank in the East Pittsburgh branch. He stayed with Mellon for 33 years at various branches before retiring as a manager from the Oakmont branch.
Larry was a kind and patient man and used those attributes while serving as an instructor for Junior Achievement while with Mellon.
Larry was a member of the former Lions Club in Braddock and he was a Forest Hills Flivver driver. He was an active volunteer and member of St. Maurice Parish, now St. Joseph the Worker Parish. In his spare time, Larry enjoyed any time he could spend hunting and fishing.
Friends are welcome on Friday from 2-7pm at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home, 700 Linden Ave., East Pittsburgh (412-824-8800).
Mass of Christian Burial will be in St. Maurice Church of St. Joseph the Worker Parish on Saturday at 10 a.m.
Larry will be laid to rest with Military Honors at a later date in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
