Kathleen J. (Starek) Sloan

Of North Braddock, age 63, died on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Joan (Rohall) Starek.

Kathy was the beloved mother of Jason Sloan of North Braddock and Danielle (Archie) McConnell of Ambridge.

She was the cherished grandmother of Madison Sloan and Finley McConnell.

Kathy was the sister of David (Brenda) Starek of VA and the aunt of their children, Brittany and Bradley Starek.

Kathy was raised in East Pittsburgh, graduated from Turtle Creek High School in 1979 and then later attended Bradford Business School. She has been employed at Carnegie Mellon University and her most recent position has been the Manager of the Registrar’s Office.

Kathy found great joy when she shopped for bargains and traveled with her friends.  Her deepest passion was being with her family and grandchildren, and she especially enjoyed playing with Danielle’s pet canine, Misty,  attending Madison’s sporting events and spending time with 16-month-old, Finley.

All are welcome on Sunday from 1-6pm at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 700 Linden Ave. at Cable, East Pittsburgh, PA 15112, (412) 824-8800 where a Blessing Service will be held on Sunday at 6pm.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made directly to Kathy’s family.
