Kathleen M. "Kathy" (Snyder) Hughes

Kathleen "Kathy" Mary (Snyder) Hughes, age 77, of Rankin, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, due to complications following a heart attack Kathy suffered on Mothers Day.

Kathy was born on May 8, 1946 in Braddock, PA where she resided until moving to Rankin in the 1960s and lived her entire life.

Kathy's memory will forever live on by her three beloved daughters; Kelly Snyder, Carrie (Mike) Trisch, and Lori Hughes of Rankin; and her sister Letitia (Late Richard "Sam") Carryer of Verona; and her nieces and nephew, Richard (Lisa) Carryer, Denise (Greg) Gelormini, Michelle (late John) Cefola, and Theresa Carryer.

Kathy was also the cherished and beloved grandmother of DeAnna Lindauer, who lovingly called her "Kit Kat" and was the treasured fur grandma to her puppy Frankie J.

Kathy is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Robert L. Hughes; her parents James Claire Snyder and Helen McClesky Snyder; as well as two infant sons Robert Michael and Baby Hughes.

Kathy's last wishes would be for her family to cherish her memory and celebrate her life.  She was well known  by many as a “sweet tooth”, and enjoyed taking trips visiting local bakeries throughout the greater Pittsburgh area.  Kathy held close to her heart the special bond she shared with her sister, Letitia, the two would talk on the phone every day.  She was loved by all of her family including many cousins and neighbors who thought of her as a second mom.  Kathy will forever be remembered as a caring and gentle soul, who would do anything for those around her.     

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to please lift them up in prayer and for donations to be made to the Shrine of St. Jude Thaddeus 1901 S Ashland Ave. Chicago, IL 60608 in memory of Kathleen Hughes.

A Celebration of the Life and love for Kathleen will be celebrated at a later date.
