Kathleen R. (Corbett) Fabrizi

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kathleen Rose (Corbett) Fabrizi on Thursday, October 23, 2025. Kathleen passed, surrounded by her family exchanging various anecdotes and memories of her as she peacefully ascended to Heaven- something she would have loved.

Kathleen was married to the love of her life for the past 60 years, Donald Fabrizi. Their marriage was that of magic and they truly were best friends. Kathleen “Cass” and Donald “Donnie” were never without one another, whether it be through the tough times or just sitting on a bench to “people watch”. They came as a duo, always laughing at their own inside jokes and finishing one another’s sentences. As they both said, “they would find each other in any universe”. We believe this to be true and know Kathleen will meet him again to tell him about all the adventures she has had thus far in Heaven.

Kathleen was the loving and always devoted mother of Mary Moody of Pittsburgh and Stacie DeHass of Trafford. Kathleen “Mummy” was born to be a mother, always patient, always understanding, and always sharing valuable wisdom which has been used throughout their lives. From running around with them as little girls outside and creating magical Christmases every year (her favorite) to providing advice on how to create those same memories for their children as adults, she was always there with an empathetic outlook and caring heart.

One of Kathleen’s favorite parts of life was being Mama (grandmother) to Kacie Moody, Jake DeHass, Alexis O’Neal, Ava DeHass, and Leah DeHass. Mama loved having her grandchildren sleep over when they were younger almost as much as they loved sleeping over there- endless laughter, games, silver dollar pancakes, buying a hermit crab because they wanted one, and the best spaghetti sauce ever in existence. The sleepovers still happened as the grandchildren grew older, but with Mama’s advice and open ears always helping to guide them through adulthood. The endless laughter and the best spaghetti sauce ever in existence never changed.

Kathleen was the sister of Mary Corbett, Sally (late James) Manteris, and Michael (Mary Lou) Corbett. Kathleen loved being with her siblings and always made it a point to remain as close as they grew up. Kathleen would often share stories of her sisters and brother, explaining anecdotes from childhood to advice that they shared over the phone on a weekly and sometimes daily basis when they couldn’t be together at the kitchen table drinking coffee. She was so proud of her siblings, nieces, and nephews, always making it a point to attend every event, send every card, and keep every school picture.

For 23 years Kathleen worked as a bus driver for Gateway School District, a position which she adored. Kathleen remembered every child’s name and story. Every year on the last day of school she would have the students put down their windows to yell out “Yipee! It’s the last day of school!” Each Christmas she would carefully unwrap the gifts from her students, all of which she kept to this day.

Kathleen was a ‘once in a lifetime’ person- there will never be another one like her. The list is endless with her wonderful qualities, but the top of the list was her kindness. Whenever you are kind to someone else, remember that Kathleen’s Irish eyes will be smiling.

Kathleen was raised in Homewood by Michael and Mary Corbett where she attended the Divine Providence High School in East Liberty. She raised her family in Monroeville and most recently resided in Turtle Creek.

All are welcome to attend her Mass of Christian Burial in St. Bernadette Church, Monroeville (Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish) on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
