Katherine L. "Kitty" (Burke) Schwartz

Of Pitcairn, age 77, passed away peacefully beside her family on Thursday, April 10, 2025.

Born the daughter of the late Clarence F. Burke and the late Edna (Dunn) Burke.

Beloved wife of the late John Schwartz.

Loving mother of Deborah (David) DeTorre of Murrysville.

Adored grandma of Michael and Gianna DeTorre.

Dear sister of John Burke, Patricia Fischman, Cynthia (Brad) Baltrus, and the late Susan Dami.

Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Kitty was a graduate of Wilkinsburg High School and Geneva College.  She worked for over 30 years as an administrator for Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield before retiring.  Kitty enjoyed watching reality television and spending time admiring the work of artists around the world.  She also found satisfaction in interior design.  Kitty would often replicate certain designs she found in magazines or on television within the comfort of her own home.  Most of all, Kitty treasured the time spent with her family.  She was an incredibly proud Mom, and was later rewarded with her two “huns”, her grandchildren, Michael and Gianna, whom she loved unconditionally. 

A private Celebration of Life will be held in the future.
