Of Forest Hills, age 64, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021.
Born the daughter of Donna (Gerhard) Prentice and the late James Prentice, Jr.
Beloved wife of the late Albert Gregg “Chip” McMahon for 32 years.
Loving mother of Kristin (Derek Byers) McMahon of Sewickley.
Adored sister of James (Cheryl) Prentice, III, Kevin Prentice, and Craig Prentice.
Dear longtime companion of Ken Weightman.
Also survived by many countless, nieces, and nephews.
Karen was a 1974 graduate of Churchill Area High School. She then went on to obtain an Associate’s Degree in graphic arts from the Pittsburgh Art Institute. Karen worked as an art director for Cold Comp where she coordinated designing and commercial printing. She was a proud mother and enjoyed working independently while raising her daughter, Kristin. Later in life, Karen held secretarial positions for Christ Lutheran Church and School in Forest Hills. Most recently, she was employed by CVS Pharmacy as a customer service representative and guided patients through the selection of specialty prescriptions. Karen enjoyed shopping and using her creative talents to bring a warm brightness to her home. She will forever be remembered as an outgoing, positive, kind-hearted soul who always put the needs of others before her own. Karen treasured the feeling of being helpful to her family members and friends who will forever be thankful for having her as a part of their lives.
