Of East Pittsburgh, age 69, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 while residing at We Care in Mt. Lebanon.
She is survived by her sisters, Bernadette (David) Morrison of Forest Hills and Marie (Joe) Nemetz of New Stanton; and her brother, Joe Barko of OH.
Julie is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Kayla Barko, Savannah (Rick) Manning, Joe Nemetz and Michael Nemetz.
Julie was a 1974 graduate of Turtle Creek Area High School and earned her Bachelor’s in Special Education from California University of PA in 1978. In her spare time, Julie loved to knit and crochet.
Friends are welcome on Monday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc.; 700 Linden Ave at Cable Avenue, East Pittsburgh (412-824-8800).
Mass of Christian Burial will be in St. Joseph the Worker Church (formerly St. Maurice), 2001 Ardmore Blvd., Forest Hills, on Monday at 12 noon.
Julie will be laid to rest in Braddock Catholic Cemetery.
